Made a slideshow animation for the College instead of a holiday card. And youtube picked the creepiest picture from the whole thing to have as a thumbnail.

Sometimes I get to do fun things like this at work. First draft for an invite to a play at Ford’s Theatre.

One of the first large projects at work was to make a mobile site for http://ccarts.wvu.edu. Going into this I pretty much had no idea where to start and had to turn a site with an outdated design and confusing layout into a mobile friendly version. After months of confusion and working backwards, but also having lots of help from Steve, who actually created the original slate mobile template - I ended up with a finished product that I actually like. Each blog (music, theatre, art, news, archive) has a different image / color scheme that readjusts itself when you rotate the phone.
Anyways, you have to be using a mobile device to see the site in this format. I’m planning on re-designing it in a few months anyways because my next project will be to redesign the ccarts site and the schools’ sites as well. At any rate, it’s good practice and I learned a bunch.

My hosting expired today! This thing will serve as a portfolio (lame) until I get motivated to design a new portfolio site and all that (which will probably be a while). Anyways, Here’s what I’m doing with that piano drawing.
I recently moved into a new and much larger apartment. My mom saw this as an opportunity to take me antique shopping. I found a lot of cool new (old) stuff, mostly for my kitchen, which already has retro ’50s cabinets still in place. I’ll post photos of my new place soon since it’s pretty great.
I also spent a lot of time wandering around admiring some old typography and retro design. Excuse the blurry phone picture quality.

Made my own graduation announcements. I used some shimmery card stock for the outside sleeve. You can see a bit of the map inside through the cut out flying WV. I made a map of frequent hangouts and landmarks on campus since I’ve been obsessed with maps lately.

Made this “dude, sweet” sketchbook last month. My apartment is basically a cave so better photos with natural lighting will follow sometime in the future.

I bought a bunch of old west themed magazines off e-bay a few weeks ago so I used one to make myself a new sketchbook. More to come.
